hmm, another question along this vein. do sabway and paraway synergize well together?

well since we can only have 3 heroes I don't think there's been much effort to uncover that hidden synergy.

Sabway is self-synergizing. It doesn't really require anything outside of itself, so the end effect would be having your para syngergizing with paraway with Sabway just along synergizing itself. Any synergy between the two would be accidental-Sabway features alot of physical buffing skills for the minions that'll help the paras do their thing (Barbs, Mark of Pain etc.).

Question: Does 'save yourselves' affect minions, or just party members? I don't ever pay attention to how much damage the minions are taking to tell whether it's getting reduced.

If it does, oh man....10 little tanks

"Save Yourselves!" only affects party members.

A shout/chant will affect a minion only if it says "Allies" in the description.

So shouts like GftE will affect minions, but you're out of luck with SY.

They do indeed my man... I went vanqing with a guildie the other day and he ran sabway and i ran paraway. Paraway did all the killing while sabway kept the hard hitting mobs off us with all the minions... they synergised well... Also GFtE works on minions, so you basically have 10 possible crits from them, it's good DPS...

I love my imbagon, it does get a bit boring some times, but in general it's not... I get cool damage as well as party buffs and heals on 1 char...

I use [I am the Strongest] on mine tho, cos I like seeing big numbers on my screen...

Use the Guru search option please. There are so many threads on this about Sabway's and Discordway's synergy with paras. So let me just summarize all those threads so you won't have to open the 68th thread on this topic. It seriously gets really annoying.

1. If you want good synergy, go with Racway. I believe it was provided on a post before this or you could use the "Search" option and type in "Racway" on the top right of this forum to find the builds. Know that Racway has certain issues that Rac himself has acknowledged and isn't for all areas; it requires customization. You'll want to read into it. Know that the thread is very long but well worth it.

2. Sabway works perfectly fine with Imbagon or just Paragons in general. The reason is not the synergy between the paras and necros, but just the fact that Sabway is a good set of heros synergized with each other and a good paragon is just a good paragon. Nothing wrong with good builds mixed together most of the time. Mentioned in above posts is Stunning Strike, Defensive Anthem, and Cruel Spear - all are effective. Sabway is great if you are extremely lazy (nothing wrong with that). These heroes are self-reliant, with little or no micromanagement, and the builds are effective.

3. There is another option other than Sabway and Racway: Discordway. Discordway is focused more toward classes that cast hexes or use Assassin's Promise but can easily fit into Paragon. Ignore PvX's absurd idea to use AP on a para and just run a paragon build but be sure to include the skills Barbed Spear and Asuran Scan. You may also want another AoE hex since paras don't have hexes. I recommend 2 Putrid Biles, 1 Rising Bile, 1 Shadow of Fear, and if you must, 1 Suffering. You'll want to add in other curses such as Barbs. Discordway is extremely fast in HM, faster than Sabway. However, it does require more work (booo) and has certain weaknesses where conditions and hexes are removed efficiently from mobs.

Hope this was helpful and swift death to more Discordway and Sabway threads that say the same thing over and over and over.

MasterSasori has said everything that needs to be said. You can start off by reading this thread by Racthoh and then check out PvXwiki to find Sabway and Discord. The talk pages on the wiki are quite a valuable resource also, please check them out for variations on common builds.
